What an honour to hear from both of these men. Even with the technological challenges both ‘visits’ experienced, it really seemed to be an intimate atmosphere; just us hanging out with Dr. Chapela and Bill Bigelow.

Monica’s response to LER #3, Question 2

This class has been a catalyst for re-evaluating the way I live. The class discussions, the guest speakers and our class readings have caused me to spend a great deal of time reflecting. I find I come home at night after class and look around my house at all of my material possessions. I am shocked by the amount of “stuff” in my home and appalled at the amount of time I spend buying, organizing, caring for and putting away these items.

Sherry’s Response to LER 3 #2

I found this to be an interesting exercise.  I had hoped to create a piece that represented how Dr. Chapella and Bill Bigelow influenced me during their lectures.  I was moved by their discussion on global warming, the water crisis, and by the fact that we are always moving full speed ahead without ever stopping to look behind.  I have attempted to respond to this with a powerpoint set to music.  It isn’t bad for a first try but I would do things a little differently next time.  Thanks for watching.

As I listened to Dr. Chapela and Bill Bigelow speak of education, the environment and role we take in this I reflected on some of my past experience and some of the areas that I am passionate about.
