LER #4

Posted by podco on March 29, 2009

Using Dr. Bill Ayers as a starting point, how do you, as an educator and citizen, make sense of all the readings, guest presenters, discussions, in fact, the course experience itself, as you take a
retrospective look back at our collective journey?

As always, you may respond via any sign system of your choosing.  When doing so, please
provide an explanation, or roadmap if you will, of the thinking behind your response.

Feel free to respond to as many of your colleagues’ posts as you wish.

Responses are due Monday, April 6.

Question #1

Both Dr. Chapela and Bill Bigelow spoke of environmental and human social justice issues. How do you synthesize the various insights/messages shared by these two scholars, teachers, activists, role models?

Question #2

How do YOU connect or make personally relevant the broad social justice themes discussed by Chapela
and Bigelow in LER #3? Post an an artefact of your learning via any sign system of your choosing.

As well, please comment on two of the responses to LER #3 made by other students.

Technical Difficulties with first LER

Posted by podco on February 1, 2009

This weekend we have experienced problems transferring the large lecture video file from Regina to Ottawa for editing. This is delaying posting of the first LER.

Apologies to all; I will send an email to the group as soon as it is posted, hopefully before Tuesday.

Welcome to the online component

Posted by podco on January 5, 2009

This site is where the Learning Enhanced Re-Presentations (LERS) can be found.

Each LER will be introduced by a posting in the main column of this site (where this post you are now reading is). As well, links to them will be in the left-hand margin under “Categories”.

After you view the LER posts, the posts you create in turn (“responses”) will also appear in this main column and links to them will also appear in the left column.

If you comment on another student’s posted response, it will appear under their post.

Links to complimentary course content will be filed under “Blogroll” in the right hand column.

Please check this site often to read the comments and postings of your classmates — and of course to make your own contributions to this learning community!
